It's next year tomorrow!

It came and went in a blink of an eye!
We had great fun though, Robert and Anneka stayed from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day

I discovered how to make Puff Pastry Mince Pies, they don't look neat but they did taste nice.

Michael  and Lizzie had Christmas lunch with us on Christmas Day and Peter and Steph and Caitlin and Liam came Boxing day.  Michael and Lizzie left their presents for Caitlin and Liam.  Caitlin is in one of Nana's creations, poor thing it fits where it touches, I expect she will grow into it.

I wonder what next year will bring?  This year did not fair well for me personally.  Well it all started December 2011.  December 2011 new owners at my place of work.  Go back to work after Christmas 2011 to have my hours immediately cut! By Easter no job at all.  As they say things can only improve, not sure it has even after being at home for eight months.  Perhaps its because I haven't got my head round being at home yet.  Anyway I am looking forward to youngest sons wedding and a vintage fair both in March, which as we all know will soon be here!  Time does not wait for anyone!

I will be here

Saturday, 23rd March, 2013
Trull Memorial Hall near Taunton, Somerset TA24 7JZ
from 10am to 3pm

Now does anyone know how to stop this

1~1~11

We had a quiet New Years Eve. In bed asleep! We didn't even hear the fireworks which normally wake us up.
I wonder what delights the new year will bring...........last year our eldest son Michael married Elizabeth, that was a really lovely day.
I don't normally make resolutions as I find they last all of five minutes, but this year I thought I would set myself little tasks, like having a good tidy up and either use or throw things out. I have said this to myself for at least the last thirty odd years so we'll have to see how that goes! I'm sure I'll let you know if it worked or not!!!
I'm now off to take the decorations down, we always do on 1st January so we can start the new year afresh from day one and also going to write thank you cards for my lovely gifts which Santa brought.

It's next year tomorrow!

Well it’s nearly over……..It will be next year tomorrow! The decorations go away for another year tomorrow, something I always do on 1st January, start the new year afresh……….! This year has been quite something for us. The birth of our grand-daughter Caitlin Louise and watching our son Robert be an extra in the BBC television series Merlin.

I had lots of lovely gifts from friends
from Denise
(does not blog)
from Jane
(does not blog - but lets me use her photographs)

from Jan

from Ginny
(she does not blog)

from Heather

from Janice

I would like to say a big thank you to Gillian for my PIF gift, I haven’t forgotten the ones I have to send Christmas got in the way a bit. It sort of crept up on me all of a sudden! I thought I would leave it till January in case they got lost in the Christmas post, one has to go farther away.

These last few days have been expensive too
Element went in the cooker a few months ago.
Since about 2000, the element goes about every eighteen
months, it trips the circuit breaker, but because a surge of
electricity goes through the breaker this time it did more than the
normal damage, this time it took out the DVD recorder too!
Husband NOT at all PLEASED!
So a new new cooker was delivered on Tuesday!
Then I discovered the element went in the tumble dryer.
New tumble dryer being delivered next Thursday.
I decided I could not live without a tumble dryer....................
I think it is because I have been spoilt with this luxury
for the last thirty odd years.

I started to crochet Caitlin a car blanket with
King Cole - Splash yarn

HAPPY NEW YEAR
for 2010 to everyone
only another to 358 days to go.............

End of the Old...............

31st December, 2007! The decorations are being taken down to start the new year afresh, a normal practice in our house, usually this is done on 1st January but we are going out tomorrow! This year the lights (brand new LED sort) nearly worked! I was not impressed with the only one hour of the pretty lights glowing daily - next year back to the old fashioned bulb sort!
I hear you cry.........but.........this is New Years Eve! I must be getting old, I'll be in bed by ten and asleep, I'm not a party person. It'll be next year tomorrow and another day! I have lots of plans though to Knit, Embroider, design Cross Stitch. Oh dear! The brain is working faster than the fingers. I also plan to take a photo everyday. That is if I can get that task sussed without help from anyone - I'll keep you posted on that one (well you will see anyway as time goes on). The photo taking is the easy bit (she thinks), its getting the picture from the camera to the blog.........
