Boys!

This photograph is not staged.
I just thought it was really funny the way my son took off and left his trainers
trying to climb on to the seat with the rest of the things!
I did wonder where the tin opener went though!

Ooooops Sorry!

Forgot to give the answer to the question on Monday "Guess what this is.........."
(no prizes I'm afraid!) Did anyone guess?

The answer is.............................

Frost on the car windscreen
The photo was taken from inside the car

This Bush.................

.................is a Bay. I bought it about ten years ago in
Tesco for 15pence because it had a 'sell by' date on it. It also
only had a about five leaves. I planted it in the garden...........
It sits quietly in all weathers, snow, frost, Summer sun and Autumn winds.

Tortoise

I bought this book for my friend Jane for her birthday in 2005 because she has three tortoises. I saw the book in January in Waterstones and thought I know someone who would just love this book, and I wrote the details down on a scrap piece of paper and hoping I did not lose it between then and May. Well I didn't lose the scrap of paper and ordered the book for Jane. I recently remembered the book and thought I might like to read it, and she gladly lent it to me.

It is a remarkable story. A story of a "female" tortoise who died in February 2004, but thought to have lived for 160yrs. 1926 discovered he was a she! Timothy lived in the Rose Garden at Powderham Castle Devon, and ate Strawberries!

The book is a great read.

Crazy Patchwork

I have got my crazy quilt out again this afternoon. I am looking forward to stage two when I start embellishing it, but I must first finish stitching the patches. The boring bit! One must walk before running! This quilt will be completely hand-stitched so it will take a long time. I love doing all sorts of needlework, so I think this will be just right for me because I can cover most embroidery. I have over the months gathered beads, buttons and ribbons and this is also a good way of using up all my threads I have collected over the years. It is a wholecloth quilt. I just love doing things the difficult way. If there is a difficult way of doing anything I can manage to find it!

A SAGA - Socks! - II

Yes...........I have had to undo the sock yet again, well..........not all, just the heel, and a couple of rows just to neaten the knitting as the stitches were loose and a bit messy. So far I have enjoyed the knitting of the sock, and I have sussed the heel. The foot was far too short for my foot, it is too wide now! I can actually fit the sock on my foot over 15 denier tights, but hey...... never mind at least I have achieved what I had set out to do! I will continue and make a pair but first of all I have to do the heel yet again let's hope I can remember how I did it!
