This is not the time!

.The sun is shining the sky is blue so do I feel like I don't want to do anything?

The yellow daffodils sprang into life

now they are ready for the compost!

I started a quilt, but for the last couple of days things have come to a stand still, because..........I should be de-cluttering, I should be tidying, my brain is saying don't just sit there do something!  I know what I should be doing, I know what I want to do, I know what I would prefer to do.  So for the rest of the day I will take it easy and try and bounce into action tomorrow she says!

I tried to bounce into action today by tidying my needlework basket and box........these are not the only two I have another two with projects in that need sorting too!

Tomorrow have to finish a jumper I started well before Christmas for Liam.  I t is ok it will still fit him because I knit to grow into at this age!

Tomorrow I have to finish printing off the menus and order of the day and cut up place names for Peter and Steph's wedding in four weeks time!

Tomorrow I will be preparing a mini picnic for Monday.  We are grandchildren minding which we are looking forward to, the first time on their own with nana and grandad.

Perhaps in a few days I will come back with a "TAH DA" or two, she says hopefully..........

  1. I once knitted my son a 'to grow in to' sweater and I was so slow It was still too small... his younger cousin looked good in it luckily!

Sounds to me like you are really busy! xxx

  2. I know how you feel, I have to give myself a good talking to every now and again to get things done.
Sounds like you've got too much on your mind and don't know what to do next,
I'm sure it will all turn out okay.

  4. I think at times like this Julie, it's best to just go with the flow and enjoy doing something which helps you de-stress.............the housework and de-cluttering is best left to a time when you really feel like tackling it.........sometimes us women need to be little kinder to ourselves I think.

  6. Sounds to me that, like so many of us, your energy has been sapped by this eternally grey weather. Maybe try a vitamin D supplement, I have and it's really perked me up.

  8. those daffs did look lovely - it's the one thing I can't bear though, as soon as flowers start to die off they have to go, I find half dead/dead ones so depressing! Hope all went well with the grandchildren visit - the picnic sounds lovely, I bet they really enjoyed that! Grandparents are so much more fun than parents (or so my children tell me!)

  11. Sometimes you just need a rest, Julie. And to save up your energy for time spent with the little ones! Soon you will feel inspired again, I'm sure. Hope you had a lovely picnic!
