Old Magazines

We have quite a collection of these magazines.
This magazine was rather like the TV Times version of the Radio Times of today.
It ran from 1934 to the outbreak of war in September 1939.

They have many interesting articles of the Radio Personalities of the time
and the adverts are really fascinating!  I have loads of others to show sometime!
The advert in the previous post was from another of these magazines.

(Click on pictures for a closer look)

This recipe caught my eye.................as I measure all my ingredients in exactly the same way!

  1. My gran left me her old Bero cooking leaflets, they measure ingredients like that too.

  3. I'm with you on old magazines they throw a light on the way people lived and as for the adverts - they are often simple but created with flair. Not like today's adverts where you haven't got a clue what is being advertised half the time - you just see a pretty girl or a fast car!
