Today

Woke up to find a large spider in the bath, the first of the season.
Just what I needed when I first got up!
To remove spiders from the bath have a look here

The first slug after this afternoon's rain

The wasps are still building their nest.  I see there isn't much room inside now, but they still come and go.  I am not pleased as this box which was put up for the robins that visit the garden, are opposite my backdoor.
When the shed wall gets accidentally banged the wasps fly around checking they are not being invaded.  As long as they leave me alone, I will leave them alone.

    1. Yes I had heard it was lucky if you get spiders in the house, but not sure when I want to use the bath!

  2. I have a jar and piece of card to hand for just such eventualities though usually it is bees which have bumbled into the conservatory who want rescuing! We had a wasp nest just outside our bedroom window a couple of years back but they never bothered us so we didn't bother them. The nest is still there but I gather they don't return to the same one another year.

    1. Hearing they don't return to the nest is good, perhaps next year we might get the robins back, after we cleared out the bird box

  3. Horrible, I am petrified of spiders especially the large ones. Tony picks them up in his hands and chucks them out but I'm sure they come straight back in !

  4. I hate spiders, especially the big hairy ones. Once found one in my shoe, still makes me shudder just thinking about it. Your spider seems to have been in the wars, as it only has 7 legs! :-) xx

    1. Yes I have well fed ones too. Copper tape and wire works to keep them at bay

  7. I detest spiders and have a horrible feeling that this year is going to be bad year for them after the mild winter. Guy has come home from work on numerous occasions to find the hoover( only way I can deal with them) outside in case the spider gets out again. Totally irrational I know.

  8. What's that old saying ... if you wish to live and thrive, let a spider go alive!! Be brave....
