We were meant to have been staying with my dad and then going to Tavistock and also to Buckfastleigh, but our weekend was cancelled! And to top it all off I had to do a hot wash, and when I took the washing out of the washing machine I found my best cardigan, shrunken! I don't know what upset me the most the weekend being cancelled or my cardigan shrinking....... We'll hopefully wait another year to go. Should have gone last year but it rained, so perhaps we aren't meant to go at all. They say things happen for a reason...........so what was the reason.........? I made flowers instead they can be seen here.................
Oh nooo on both counts. Poor you. Still, your flowers are beautiful. A friend gave me some felted flowers which look pretty similar. Hope you have a good and more successful week. xx
ReplyDeleteOh shame about your weekend. I love Tavistock.
ReplyDeleteI did your trick with the washing machine, along with the bedding I scooped up the lovely 'Build a Bear 'teddy my Daughter made me and it went all floppy and a funny shape Oh dear
Hope you have a good week

Love your corsages...you could always make some from that felted cardi or would that be too painful? Eco Ethel xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a disappointment, I do hope you can find yourself a lovely new cardigan and that your trip works out next year. Meanwhile make some of your lovely flowers, that surely has to be happy making :)
ReplyDeleteLovely flowers Julie...such pretty colours too and at least good things came from the disappointments! (there's nothing worse than ending up with a felted cardigan half the original size...I feel for you!)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Week,
Susan x
Sorry to hear that ... hopefully you will get some time away soon and then you can treat yourself to a lovely new cardi! Enjoy this lovely weather at home in your pretty garden instead. M x
ReplyDeleteOh no, what a shame, both the weekend
ReplyDeleteAnd the cardigan.
ReplyDeleteOh such a shame that you have to wait a whole year too Julie. Lovely corsages. So sorry about your cardi.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you had a rubbish weekend :( Hope the next one is better x
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame ... but the little flowers are lovely so you didn't waste your time !!
ReplyDeleteOh dear - and I would be spitting feathers about that cardi. Could you use it for something else perhaps? Felted wool makes for great gloves...though possibly not needed in this weather.
ReplyDeleteI hope things get better for you
Best wishes
Jenny
Oh dear so sorry about your cardi .......I did the same thing to one of mine a while ago......newly knitted and on it's first wash. I had to put it away and try to forget about it, but might make a toy with it eventually. Sorry about your weekend being cancelled too. Hope that something much nicer happens for you this week.
