Week One 2018

First  week of the New Year.
Not much happening, or done, just sorting of junk, charity shop giving, and knitting.

Decorations down and put away on 31st December, to start the new year afresh.

Flowers my friend Jane gave me are still going strong.
These were given me on 22nd December, so two weeks on and still looking pretty.

 Trees, who doesn't like trees?
I see trees everyday.
The old Oak, the Poplar trees, and the Laburnum in my garden.

Thought I might take a photo of these trees the first week of every month to see how they change.

  1. Hi Julie, we took our decorations down early this year too and we've been sorting/cleaning. It felt like the right thing to do to start the New Year. Good idea to photograph the trees as they change, I will enjoy seeing the changes. xx

  2. We took all our Christmas paraphernalia down before new year too. Your flowers are looking fresh still, all the best for 2018 xx

  3. that will be interesting to see the changes in the trees.

  4. I'm going to enjoy watching your trees during the changing seasons.
    Our decorations came down yesterday.

  5. It's the loss of colour when you put the decs away which always makes me a little sad. This year I've left all the coloured lights up and it's definitely better. Your carnations have lasted well....fresh flowers are always lovely to have as a gift!

  6. We've cleared away our decorations early too - down on new years day! However, we keep lights up all the time. Especially when it is so dark and dreary - it is amazing the different small white lights make on a dull and cold morning :)

  7. I like your idea of photographing the tree over the year.

Please leave a comment. I love reading them and I read every single one!
